Super Easy Hummus
This is my favorite recipe for hummus. Just a few simple steps to make creamy homemade hummus, and yes, it is better from the store-bought. Plus, extremely cheap.
Let us be honest, we can never be 100% sure that the hummus we usually buy in the store doesn’t contain any weird and unnecessary ingredients. Or maybe you have a lot of time on your hand and you enjoy reading the ingredient list on each packaging. Well, I don’t. It’s so much easier to grab a can of chickpeas and just whizz it up in a food processor. Trust me, after this recipe, you won’t buy any soon again.
Few simple ingredients and a beautiful topping in form of caramelized onion just make the whole difference. You can choose whatever toppings you like for this simple recipe. Maybe roasted peppers, crumble of feta cheese or green pesto. Decisions, decisions.

- 2 tsp Tahini
- 1/4 cup Olive Oil extra virgin
- 2 tbsp Fresh Lemon Juice
- 1 Large Garlic
- 1/2 tsp Smoked Paprika
- 2 tbsp Water

- Transfer ready hummus to a serving bowl and place in the fridge to cool down.
- Cut the onion in half and chop into 1 cm slices. On a frying pan preheat 1 tbs of olive oil on medium heat, and start cooking the onions. Once they start being translucent add vinegar and sugar. Let it cook for 5-8 min, moving them from time to time.
- Once you are ready to serve your hummus, simply decorate with onions and sprinkle some smoked paprika on top. Enjoy with fresh flatbread, tortilla chips, or as a bread spread.
