Seafood Pizza

Seafood Pizza

Seafood and pizza are probably two of my favorite words when it comes to cheat day treat. This recipe is something I would crave no matter what as I’m a huge seafood lover.

Seafood Pizza

If you are like me, you will love this simple recipe where the seafood is a true star. I use just a tomato sauce with a hint of herbs, mature cheddar cheese, prawns, squid, and mussels. Don’t worry! In this recipe, we will use precooked seafood so the prep time is going to be super speedy and you will have a fresh and beautiful pizza in no time. Absolute win-win for an easy and delicious treat.

Seafood Pizza

As you see, it is a recipe stripped down from any unnecessary toppings to make sure of a punchy flavor of seafood, but if you feel like you need more toppings that’s also fine. Olives, onion, or mushrooms will also do really well in this mix. You can add chili to give it a bit of punch if you like.

Without further ado let’s get to it!

Ingredients

Pizza base

  • 7 g Dried Yeast
  • 325 ml Warm Water
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 500 g Plain Flour

Toppings

  • 1 cup Passata
  • 400 g Seafood Selection prawns, squid, mussels
  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 2 Large Garlic Cloves
  • Fresh Basil Leaves
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano
  • Salt & Pepper

Instructions

  • Mix the dried yeast with warm water in a cup and set aside. In a large glass or ceramic bowl combine evenly flour and salt.
  • Pour the yeast mixture into the bowl with flour and start mixing with your hand. It will be quite sticky, which is what we want. Once you have no dry flour left behind, place the dough onto a counter dusted with flour and start kneading. Up to max 5 min. Just until your dough is smooth.
  • Roll the dough into a log and cut 4 equal pieces (for a large pizza cut in two). Each piece shape to a bowl and place on a dusted with flour tray. Cover with a tea towel. Let it rise in a dry and warm place for at least 2h.
  • In a bowl mix passata with oregano, a pinch of salt, and pepper
  • Once your dough is ready, preheat the oven to 210 degrees Celcius. Stretch your dough into the desired size circle and place it on a baking tray. Spread tomato sauce on top. Leave a thin rim of pizza dry. Sprinkle shredded cheese, add seafood, slices of garlic, and place in the oven.
  • Bake in the oven for 7 to 10 min.
  • All done! Enjoy!
